Burma’s Foreign Minister Wunna Maung Lwin will arrive in New Zealand on Monday to further economic and diplomatic ties.

He will hold talks with New Zealand Minister of Foreign Affairs Murray McCully aimed to boost trade amid political reforms in the Southeast Asian nation, said government officials.

"New Zealand is greatly encouraged by the nature and scale of the reforms and wants to support them both symbolically and practically," McCully said.

McCully previously met Lwin at international meetings and while visiting Naypyitaw and Rangoon in March when he also met President Thein Sein and National League for Democracy leader Aung San Suu Kyi.
