The Ministry of Finance and Revenue has announced that, as from March 15, Myanmar citizens can now travel to foreign countries without producing a tax clearance document.

“To ease citizens’ difficulties, all citizens can travel abroad without the signed ‘C Form’,” said a spokesperson from the Ministry.

Previously, citizens traveling to foreign countries needed to show a signed C Form to prove they had no outstanding tax bills.

“In the past, Myanmar people had to spend time, money and effort in getting this form. The new procedure is more convenient for busy businesspeople,” said Hnin Oo, the vice-president of a fisheries entrepreneurs organization.
